Buccal Fat Removal

Buccal fat pad is collection of fat in lower cheek. It gives fullness to the lower part of the cheeks, resulting in a "chubby cheek" or "chipmunk cheek“. This condition is often hereditary.

Buccal fat removal is a relatively short procedure & done under local anesthesia and sedation. The buccal fat pads inside the cheeks are removed through a small incision on the inside of the mouth. The incision is closed with sutures and any resulting scars are concealed inside the mouth.

After removal of buccal fat pads the ``chubbiness``of cheeks or baby faced appearance is reduced and face will have sharp contours with more defined & mature look.

Final results are seen after 4-6 weeks once all residual swelling is resolved. This procedure is also called buccal fat pad reduction because removal of complete fat pad is not advisable as it later on result in unhealthy, gaunt & malnourished look.
